Lets have a look on current TVs technologies. LCD and LED you must have heard about these words. But even some people donot know its full form. Here is all about these technology. And there comparision.

LCD TVs

LCD (liquid crystal display).

There are lot of items which contain LCD (liquid crystal display).

For example- in laptop computers, digital clocks and watches, microwave ovens, CD players etc.

LCD have many feature which make it advantages over other display technologies.

  • They are thinner.
  • They are lighter.
  • They draw much less power than CRT (cathode ray tube)

The term is LCD (Liquid crystal display). With crystal the thing comes in mind is solid material like rock. In solid state the matter hold all the molecules intact with each other, while in liquid molecules orientation can change, which make liquid to change its shape and can flow. But there are some substances that can exist in an odd state which neither is solid nor is liquid. That’s what the liquid crystal are having properties of solid as well as of liquid.

Liquid crystal is also used in making thermometer and mood rings. Our laptop which made up of LCD. So, do liquid crystals act like solids or liquids or something else? It turns out that liquid crystals are closer to a liquid state than a solid. It takes a fair amount of heat to change from solid into liquid crystal, and it only takes a little more heat to turn that same liquid crystal into a real liquid. So you can easily understand that their sensitivity towards temperature makes it suitable in making of thermometer and mood rings. For the same reason a laptop computer display may behave differently in cold day as during a hot day.

LED (Light emitting diode) TVs- Both LED and LCD TVs are liquid crystal displays. The basic technology is base on the same concept. In both television types there are two layers of polarized glass through which the liquid crystals blocks and pass light. In short we can say that LED TVs are derived from LCD TVs.

LED TVs provide a better picture quality because of two reasons-

  • 1. LED TVs work with a color wheel or distinct RGB-colored lights        (red, green, blue) to produce more realistic and sharper colors.
  • 2. Light emitting diodes can be dimmed.

The dimming capability on the back lighting in an LED TV allows the picture to display with a truer black by darkening the lights and blocking Note: The backlit LED TVs provide better angle viewing than the edge-lit LED TV and backlit LCDs.

Now the quesions come in mind that:-

  • 1. Which one is better
  • 2. Which provides more features.

So here is the quick comparision between both-            Click Next Page>
